Castiel comes for Dean in Hell.

I wanted to do some trueform!Castiel, mostly as an excuse to draw wings and a bunch of eyes. This is a practice piece for another thing I have an idea for, and I'd originally intended to just do a sketch, but then got the wacky fun idea to go all the way and ink it.

I must be insane.

The wings/eyes combo is mostly due to my having read "A Wind in the Door" many years ago and, though I don't remember that much about the book, that particular idea stayed with me and is what I usually think of when I imagine angels.

Woo! Glad you like this. It was...more of a process than I really meant it to be, when I started. But there's been such awesome response so it seems like it was totally worth it.

I kinda feel like maybe Dean is getting ready to attack, because honestly if I saw that coming at me I'd probably flail at it with whatever I had handy. That's just a personal interpretation, tho'. Heh.

I had a very, very non-religious upbringing, so I'm basing this mostly on stuff that's been filtered through other sort of religiously-derived fiction. I'm glad it works at least kind of on a level that someone who knows about this stuff can enjoy it too. (There was always the chance of this being totally, like, blasphemous, or whatever. *waggles eyebrows*)

And of course, feedback from you is awesome because you rock the art in ways I can only dream. *sighs wistfully*

that's kind of freaky! but i mean that in a good way - an angel's true form SHOULD be. i really like all the eyes and hands and what looks like a flaming sword. (i read a wind in the door years and years ago too, and could never visualize what all those eyes and wings were supposed to look like. but this is a really good representation.)

I really need to reread those books. And it's funny you mention a sword, as I was really trying to figure out how to get an *actual* sword in this image and just couldn't see how. It made my day to see that it kinda sorta showed up anyway. Love it. Thank you.

Hee! Glad you liked this! I really wish they'd do something crazy with angel's true forms on the show, but until they do, we get to come up with all kinds of crazy stuff. I was only sorry I couldn't figure out how to incorporate tentacles into this. Alas!
